Each year, several Division 15 committees recognize researchers at various stages in their careers that have made significant contributions to the field of educational psychology. Additionally, Division 15 recognizes research in progress and awards financial assistance to promising scholars.

Paul R. Pintrich Dissertation Awards
The Paul R. Pintrich Division 15 Dissertation Award is given to an individual who finishes his/her doctoral dissertation within the previous two calendar years from when the award will be announced. The dissertation must be in the area of educational psychology, broadly defined, and the proposed recipient must be a member or affiliate of the Division at the time of the award consideration. The award consists of a plaque, a check for $500, and a program time slot for an invited address at the annual meeting. The recipient gives his/her address and receives the plaque and check at the APA conference in the year following the announcement, thus allowing a full year for the preparation of the invited address.

E. L. Thorndike Career Achievement Awards
The E. L. Thorndike Career Achievement Award is among the most prestigious award given to living recipients for substantial career achievements in educational psychology. The award's winners are recognized for research in the best tradition of educational psychology, meaning that the award is conferred for original, scientific, empirically-based research that contributes significantly to knowledge, theory, or practice in educational psychology.

The Richard E. Snow Awards for Early Contributions
The Richard E. Snow Award is given to an individual who has made what the committee judges consider to be a significant career contribution and completed his/her doctoral dissertation within the previous 10 calendar years. Specifically, a viable candidate would be no more than 10 calendar years past the date of completing his/her doctoral dissertation at the time of receiving the award. All nominees must fulfill this criterion to be considered, and also must be a member or affiliate of the Division at the time of the award consideration.

Dissertation Research Awards
Division 15 invites graduate students who are members or affiliates of the division to apply for a dissertation research award. The purpose of the award is to provide financial support for educational psychology doctoral students preparing to collect their dissertation data. Two grants will be awarded, each including a $1,000 stipend to be applied toward the student's dissertation research. Announcement of the grant award winners will be made during the APA convention.
To be eligible, applicants must be current graduate students who are members or student affiliates of Division 15. Applicants must have submitted or defended a dissertation proposal to their committee but must have not yet collected dissertation data.
Submissions will be evaluated based on the importance of the research question, match with Division 15 goals, and quality of the proposed methodology
